Google Stadia Update: While it was feared that only Stadia Pro subscribers could continue to use Google’s cloud gaming service after the three months offered, the firm said that it would be possible to take advantage of the Stadia Base offer after terminating his subscription.

It is on February 19, this Wednesday, that the first buyers of the Founder offer from Google Stadia will see their three months of subscription to the Pro offer expire. While we still wondered when players could start to benefit from Google’s cloud gaming service, Stadia Base, for free, we are new.

Indeed, as reported by the Android Police site, which obtained a statement from one of Google’s spokespersons, the first Stadia customers will be able to access the service for free once their three-month trial period – included in the within Founder and Premiere subscriptions expiring.

If the player chooses not to renew their Stadia Pro subscription, they will lose access to the games and promotions offered exclusively to Pro subscribers. Still, they will be able to continue playing the games they have purchased, and they will have access to the Stadia store to buy other games.

A PREVIEW ACCESS TO THE STADIA BASE OFFER

In other words, players who subscribed to Stadia first, thanks to the Founder and Premiere offers, could also be the first to benefit from the service for free. The Stadia Base offer, which allows the platform to be used in 1080p and without any games offered, has not yet been launched by Google.

A few weeks ago, Phil Spencer, head of Stadia at Google, said that Stadia Base would arrive “  in the coming months  ”, without any further details. For the time being, the only possibility to use Stadia is, therefore, the subscription, whether with the Stadia Pro offer or by having ordered a Founder and Premiere edition, then having cancelled the subscription after the three months of Stadia Pro offered.

Remember that Stadia Base will allow you to enjoy all of Google Stadia’s games for free, without paying a subscription. The games will, however, have to be purchased and will be limited to 1080p definition with stereo sound, while the Pro version will allow free games, promotions, 4K video and 5.1 surround sounds.
