By default, each iPhone name is activated after purchase by “iPhone” with the name to which it belongs. Do you want your “melafonino” to be more original by changing this name? Well, find out what can be done and it’s really clear.
If you want to know how to change the name of the iPhone, all you have to do is to follow the simple instructions that I will give you. This operation can be performed on all iPhone models and on all computers with iTunes 10 (or later). Here are the details.
There are two ways to rename an iPhone, one can be done directly from a smartphone, and the other is using a computer in iTunes. Let’s start with the most immediate thing that can be done directly from the phone settings.
To rename your iPhone without using a computer, you need to press the Settings screen icon on the home screen and go to General> Information.
At this point, select the iPhone name to be displayed at the top of the screen (for example, by iPhone) and enter the new name you want to assign to the device on the screen that opens.
When the operation is complete, the button is located in the upper left corner to save the information changes and return to the iPhone Information menu. That is all! In thirty seconds, it has changed its name to “Melafonino”.
Now, here we show you how to rename the iPhone using a computer. In this case, the first thing you should do is connect your phone to the computer you normally use to sync iPhone (i.e. PC or Mac) and start iTunes (if it doesn’t start automatically).
Once the iPhone entry appears in the iTunes sidebar (via iPhone for example), double-click on it and then type the new name you wanted to give to your “Melafonino”. When you’re done, hit the button right now on your computer keyboard and you’re done.
As you can see, changing the name of the iPhone takes very little time and, when in doubt, you can retrace your steps with no problem. Rename the device and rename it before. Better than that?
